The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has been caught in a web by social media users and majorly Supporters of the Labour Party Candidate Peter Obi. In a statement dated 11 November, 2022, via their verified Twitter handle, INEC responded to allegations about plans to boycott transmission of results directly from polling units to the INEC portal, IREV. According to the statement, INEC reassured Nigerians that results will be transmitted from polling units. “The Commission has repeatedly reassured Nigerians that it will transmit results directly from the polling units as we witnessed in Ekiti and Osun States’ Governorship elections.” Netizens are now saving the tweet and statement as well as urging many more to save so as to have evidence against INEC.
